Glee's season 5 premiere episode "Love, Love, Love" aired this past Thursday, September 26 on Global BC. This episode's theme, as you may have guessed from the title, was all about love. Also, Mr. Schuester announces that the Glee club is doing two weeks of the Beatles, which plays well with the love theme.
5 major events occur in this episode:
- Rachel's chemistry test audition for Funny Girl on Broadway that doesn't seem impress the director. Assuming that she didn't get the part, Rachel began singing the most emotional and heartbreaking rendition of "Yesterday". In need of a job, Rachel joins Santana at the Spotlight Diner and performs "Hard Day's Night" for the producers who come in for a meal.
- Kitty and Artie are officially going out. At first, Kitty tries to keep it a secret to protect her status at McKinley. When Tina tells Kitty that she's being emotionally abusive, Kitty says that she's ready to let everyone know that she's dating Artie.
- After planting incriminating evidence in Figgins' office, Sue takes over as McKinley's new principle and Figgins becomes McKinley's janitor. As principal, Sue threatens to fire Will and Coach Roz's if they don't win nationals.
- Kurt and Blaine are back together. With the help of Vocal Adrenaline, The Warblers, and the School for the Deaf, as well as the New Directions, Blaine proposes to Kurt, in which he says yes.
- Since Blaine and Kurt are back together, Tina' now a loner. With the combined efforts of Blaine, Jake, Ryder, and Sam, the four of them dress up like the Fab Four and perform "I Saw Her Standing There". Afterwards, Tina's given the choice between Ryder or Sam for her prom date, which she chooses Sam.
